World's Most Realistic Vector Art

I do some digital art for fun, but this guy is AMAZING. This is probably the most realistic vector art I have ever seen. See link for how the work progressed.

Most likely, he took the original photo, and then converted it to paths in illustrator...that is my guess.

Of course it's possible. People create hyper-realistic pictures with physical paint on canvas, so why wouldn't it be possible in a vector design program. *Just* takes enormous skill and endless patience.
